Powertrain Controls Engineer – Senior #894215
Job Description:
The Controls Integration Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, development, execution and launch of the Front Wheel Drive 948TE transmission into our global Front Wheel Drive conventionally powered product line.  This is a technical leadership and coordination position that is responsible for delivery of purchased controls/software from Tier 1 suppliers to support all vehicle milestones, KPI, controls assessment and quality gate requirements.  The position requires strong understanding of the content and timing required to support key milestones in the powertrain development process.  As a technical leader / coordinator, the position requires out of the box thinking and communication to present risk/recovery plans to senior management. They will be responsible for integration of the transmission system with the vehicle features, ensuring the corporate quality and performance standards are met.  The Controls Integration Engineer is also responsible for leading issues to a resolution and driving improvements to the software to meet the target CQI/AVL scores.
 
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in EE or CE, or equivalent
  • 5 years of controls, software, or systems engineering experience
  • Development experiences in controls and software CAN network and tools
  • Experience in automatic or electrified propulsion
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • 3+ years in developing and launching electrified or non-electrified propulsion systems
  • 8-10 years of life cycle experience of electrical and electronic systems, either in specification, development, validation, calibration, release and/or software
  • Program management through execution and launch
  • Experience in working with purchased controls and leading internal teams using AGILE
  • Experience working with AECD/AES/BES documentation and disclosures
  • Experience in working with multiple EE architectures and managing multiple launches a plus
  • Experience in leading process improvements conforming to CP14 (eg. Change Control Board)
  • FOTA, Cybersecurity Level 4/5 and L2+ Autonomy a plus
