The Digital Workplace Services Team within the Information Technology department works exclusively within the corporate Windows workstation environment and is responsible for supporting internal customers across multiple locations throughout the Consumers Energy territory.  The Client Productivity and Compliance team (within Workplace Services) includes dedicated resources that perform patching, application updates/deployments, BIOS, driver updates and other vulnerability remediation activities in the workstation environment.
Job Summary:
Serve as System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Administrator, responsible for performing all aspects of vulnerability remediation in the corporate workstation environment.  This primary focus of this role will be performing workstation vulnerability remediation, including but not limited to deployment of monthly cumulative updates to Operating Systems and productivity tools, BIOS and driver updates, third party application updates, etc.
  • Extensive experience in the implementation, administration, configuration, and support of SCCM Enterprise environment.
  • Extensive experience with deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting Windows updates, application deployments and driver and BIOS updates.
  • Experience using vulnerability detection and reporting tools (ie Qualys) to prioritize remediation tasks.
  • Experience working with ticket management systems (ie ServiceNow)
  • Experience navigating formal Change Management processes and procedures
  • Experience with desktop deployment automation architecture, design/migration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience using scripting to remediate complex tasks
  • Knowledge of the Windows registry, interaction of drivers within the OS, and unattended/silent installs of Windows updates and policies.
  • Contribute to development and ongoing improvement of industry best practices and standards for deploying enterprise desktop technologies.
  • Functional working and debugging knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Deployment, installation and administration of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to collect data, calculate, analyze and present metrics in leadership settings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure technical solutions are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance and strategic recommendations to other IT groups.
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve technical issues and actively pursue mechanisms for preventing, or automating the response to reoccurrences.
  • Often handles multiple assignments concurrently, leveraging experience and advanced skill in handling complex assignments with little supervision necessary.
Technical Certification or equivalent experience: Administering and Deploying System Center 2012 Configuration Manager.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience in administrative, technical work which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes, required to perform technical or analytical work and coordination involving management information systems.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree in a Business/Information Systems discipline for 3 years general experience.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in the following:
  • Experience in SCCM administration, patching and maintenance.
  • Experience implementing security policies for applications and operating systems utilizing Group Policy.
  • Experience utilizing automated technologies for the deployment of desktop systems.
  • Experience packaging and deploying applications in SCCM
  • Experience scripting using PowerShell
Certifications & Licenses: Technical Certification or equivalent experience
