You will be a key member of our service team providing advanced technical expertise in support of connected of medical devices within large scale hospital infrastructures. Your duties will be primarily focused on the support and troubleshooting of Linux-based, Kubernetes orchestrated, containerized applications. You will also need a strong understanding of computer networking and solid interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams consisting of internal/external, clinical, and technical resources. Minimal travel is required to attend trainings or meetings and to gain experience within the customer environment.
The Essential Roles and Responsibilities of the role are:
- Provide expert level high level technical support and perform root cause analysis for reported issues.
- Owns all assigned escalations, leveraging available means to ensure timely problem resolutions.
- Support the efforts of other team members in area of expertise to ensure a timely problem resolution and teammate development.
- Identify and implement service improvements in areas such as technical issue tracking, escalation, and resolution within the functional team.
- Manages customer incidents and problems effectively and proactively communicates progression toward resolution to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Remain up to date on new and emerging technologies within area of technical expertise and serves as resource to our other employees.
- Attend in person trainings or meetings as needed in us and clinical settings.
- Support other Engineers or Technical Product Consultants on the team as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive Linux experience
- Experience installing, configuring, administering Kubernetes in a Linux environment
- Experience with application clustering / load balancing concepts
- Advanced knowledge and administration of Linux and Windows Server operating systems
- Extensive experience working within virtual hypervisor environments e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, and Red Hat Virtualization
- Advanced knowledge of networking systems such as: LAN, firewalls, load balancers, routers, DNS, etc.
- Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members and non-technical parties as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment
- Ability to work independently, under minimal direct supervision
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Creativity in addressing technical challenges
- Ability to sit, work in front of a computer, and on the phone for long periods of time
- Ability to abide by PPE and other requirements required by us and clinical settings to attend meetings or trainings
- Ability to travel 10-30% domestically
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Docker Certified Associate (DCA)
- CCNA or CCNP
- CompTIA Linux+, Network+, and/or equivalent
- Knowledge of Cyber Security, regulations, and standards related to the management of patient health information (PHI)
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related discipline (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure support
- Server administration experience in a hospital or healthcare environment
