Job Description:

• The tax analyst will prepare personal property tax, sales and use tax, excise tax, heavy highway use tax and other returns as assigned.
• The tax analyst will prepare payment requests, reconcile account balances, prepare tax exemption certificates, and other tasks to support the tax department's responsibilities.
• The tax analyst will process tax-related documentation that will include opening, scanning, and validating property tax mailings such as tax bills, assessment notices, and receipts.
• The position will also print and prepare voucher reports, address labels, or assist with administrative/clerical duties, as necessary.

 
Skills:

• Experience in a tax-related position is preferred including basic knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws.
• The tax analyst must work well independently with minimal supervision and possess excellent communication, data entry, and organization skills.

 
Education:

• This position typically requires a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• However, experience in a business or tax-related position when combined with accountability and desire to learn will also be considered.
