- As the Maintenance Group Leader, you are responsible for operations, maintenance and repair of plant equipment.
- You may oversee a medium size group of employees in a skilled area of work.
- Work requires the ability to make decisions based on established procedure.
- Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of Company; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).
- Use of independent judgement.

- An execution focused leader of operational/hourly represented team members, supervising the team to ensure that tasks are completed satisfactorily.
Expertise:
- Understands and follows established processes in their area and knows how to use systems and technologies to accomplish work assignments. Typically has practical working experience in all processes within their area.
- Provides instructions to direct reports on course of action and serves as a resource for them on standardized work, quality standards and processes within the area, as well as relevant company policies and procedures.
- Works under moderate level of supervision. Collaborates effectively with more senior members of the team, seeking guidance and absorbing knowledge to address and solve issues.
Complexity:
- Carries out designated routine tasks, ensuring timely completion. Errors in decision-making or failure to achieve desired outcomes may result in schedule delays. Consistently meets unit targets as scheduled.
- Offers direct supervision to a unit or team of employees. Addresses and resolves any issues faced by team members, proactively mitigates conflicts to prevent escalation, and assigns tasks while closely monitoring progress at regular intervals.
- Proactively anticipates needs of the areas managed, by consistently training and rotating team members to ensure that there is no disruption in the execution of work.
- Engages in daily interactions with subordinates and/or peers from other functional groups. These interactions typically involve the exchange or presentation of information.
Scope And Impact:
- Handles a range of moderate scope problems that are frequently routine but may vary, requiring analysis of various factors. Utilizes judgment within established procedures and practices to determine the most suitable course of action. Follows through on difficult situations and is expected to see through resolution.
- Proposes new initiatives and leads the delivery of solutions, driving cross team efforts. Recommends opportunities for process improvement to leadership & proactively anticipates needs within own area.
- Builds relationships with team members and provides resources to them when needed. Ensures that the team managed is set up for success and approaches resolution to conflict equitably and objectively.
- Employee's impact is typically within their immediate work area and occasionally across their function.
Job Description
- As the Maintenance Group Leader, you will be responsible for a small to medium group of maintenance employees.
- You will manage the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities aligned with standard maintenance systems in addition to the following responsibilities
- You will conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of results
- Recommends solutions to problems
- Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions
- Meets schedule and quality requirements
- Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements
- Implements divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices
- Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group
- Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment
- Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project. Has knowledge and ability to implement principles
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma and or GED.
Years of experience requirement:
- 2 years of manufacturing experience.

- Machine Schematics and Blueprints
- Repairing Mechanical Equipment and Machining Processes
- Experience Managing Represented Employees
- Experience Managing Safety Practices / Risk
- Experience Working in a Manufacturing Setting
