Job Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
- The Reporting Developer handles mortgage servicing data related requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- The Reporting Developer partners with the Servicing Technology team to help the organization meet strategic goals.
- This position will be primarily responsible development of servicing data requests from internal and external customers, which includes all servicing business lines, regulators, auditors, investor/insurers, executive leadership, and other key stakeholders.
- Partners with Servicing Data Business Analysts to ensure quality and rapid fulfillment of all requests.
- This position reports to the Reporting Development Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, includes the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Designs efficient, effective and accurate queries for servicing data
- Partners with Servicing Data Business Analysts to understand data needs and ensures requirements for requests are well defined and meet the needs of the users.
- Designs reporting layout/visualizations ensuring the most appropriate methods and tools are used.
- Understands upstream and downstream data flow and database architecture.
- Provides guidance and support to cross-functional teams in data-related matters.
- Keeps abreast of mortgage servicing industry trends and best practices in data architecture, visualization and reporting development.
- Supports Other projects and assignments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or IT related field or equivalent work experience strongly preferred
- 2+ years development and optimization of queries in SQL, Scala, Ruby, Python or similar
- 2-3 years of experience with web-based business intelligence tools such as Domo, Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, SSRS or similar
- Knowledge of data governance principles and practices
- Knowledge data management, development technologies and processes
- Expert understanding of relational and non-relational databases
- Expert understanding of relational and non-relational databases
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile/SAFE practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to a diverse audience (technical, non-technical)
NOT REQUIRED BUT NICE TO HAVE
- Experience and familiarity with mortgage servicing industry terms and processes is preferred
- Experience producing reporting using data from a mortgage servicing technology such as Black Knight’s MSP and/or Sagent’s Loanserv
PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Standard office environment, equipment and tasks, including work at a computer terminal.
- This position requires partial sitting and walking throughout the day.
- Employee must be open to work overtime to complete assigned tasks.
