Job Description:
- The Senior Business Analyst, Engineering Systems, supports product development engineering teams by managing technical aspects of process development and IT systems.
- They ensure alignment with corporate product development strategy and handle application development for Product Cost Estimating, CAE, CAD, and PLM. Responsibilities include software selection, installation, configuration, custom application development, and engineering data management. They also implement IT controls, engage with software vendors, and enhance IT systems and tools.
- Familiarity with systems like aPriori, Catia, NX, Creo, Autocad, Solid Edge, Solidworks, Siemens Teamcenter, Abaqus, Hyperworks, Star- CCM, and Matlab/Simulink is required.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead IT initiatives for Product Cost Estimating and associated Engineering application support.
- Provide support for applications that facilitate Product Cost Estimating processes, including aPriori Professional.
- Understand Engineering’s key product development strategies and business initiatives to recommend IT solutions and process improvements that align with the global strategy.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Engineering product cost-estimating solutions within Dana.
- Provide guidance on Product Cost Estimating systems, CAD systems, PLM, and CAE systems.
- Identify opportunities for Engineering improvement through IT and advocate these to Engineering and IT leadership.
- Assist the Sr. Manager, Engineering Systems with application roadmaps for long-term planning and budgeting.
- Assess the functional and technical feasibility of proposed IT systems to support Engineering processes.
- Review commercial software packages to determine suitability for meeting functional needs.
- Assist with requirements, analysis, and process design for custom software development when no suitable commercial alternatives exist.
- Determine appropriate techniques for data management and integration for strategic systems.
- Serve as a technical staff member on PMO-led programs/projects delivering Engineering applications.
- Assist in supplier selection and management, focusing on technical qualification of suppliers.
- Create specifications (Use Case, Requirements, Training) for systems to meet business
- requirements.
- Understand principles and techniques of IT Strategy and Architecture, Program and Project Management, and Application Development.
- Assist the Sr. Manager in managing third-party vendor relationships, including coordinating software upgrades, improvements, and vendor-provided fixes.
Position Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or regional equivalent education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in engineering, process improvement, or information technology related to complex manufacturing industries (automotive, aerospace, etc.).
- Experience in engineering systems (CAE, CAD, PLM, etc.). Exposure to global product development and concurrent engineering techniques.
- Familiarity with aPriori Professional is a plus.
- Have a background in product should cost estimating processes is a plus.
- Proven track record of working closely with Business contacts to clearly define business needs, and possible solutions and successfully drive the implementation of those solutions.
Language:
- English (fluency in reading, writing, and speaking).

- Proficiency in using tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior analysts and leading project teams.
