Role Description
3D CAD & Computational Geometry Engineer:

About the Role
We are seeking a 3D CAD & Computational Geometry Engineer to develop and maintain an internal engineering optimization tool. The role combines 3D geometry processing, CAD automation, and AI/ML-driven visual inspection — approximately 70% algorithms/3D/CAD and 30% software engineering/infrastructure.

Responsibilities
3D / CAD / AI Algorithms (70%)
- Design and implement spatial optimization and placement algorithms for manufacturing applications
- Build and improve point-cloud and mesh processing pipelines.
- Develop CAD automation scripts in Python for programmatic part inspection, geometric feature detection, and mesh export
- Build and integrate VLM (Vision-Language Model) agents to automate visual inspection and validation of 3D CAD parts
- Develop AI-driven testing pipelines that leverage VLM approaches to automatically analyze and verify CAD geometry
- Work with 3D file formats (STEP, STL, PLY) and scientific Python libraries for spatial computation
- Build robust geometry validation pipelines including boundary detection, region filtering, and edge-case handling
Software Engineering (30%)
- Maintain and extend a Python REST API with structured request/response schemas
- Containerize and deploy services using Docker, Helm charts, and Kubernetes
- Write and maintain automated test suites (unit + integration) with coverage tracking
- Manage build tooling and CI/CD pipelines
