- Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs.
- They are involved in the entire software development lifecycle including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality and deploying the software to meet customer requirements.
- Full-stack software engineering roles, who can develop all components of software including user interface and server side also fall within this job function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers to deeply understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements, showcasing empathy and advocating for user-centric software solutions
- Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies (like agile) and technologies
- Assess the requirements of the software application or service and determine the most suitable technology stack, integration method, deployment strategy, etc.
- Create high-level software architecture designs that outline the overall structure, components, and interfaces of the application
- Collaborate with cross functional teams like product owners, designers, architects etc.
- Define and implement software test strategy, guidelines, policies and processes in line with organization vision, industry regulations and market best practices.
- Work on continuously improving performance and optimizing the application and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Familiar with programming practices, such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
- Support security practices to safeguard user data including encryption and anonymization.
- Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces
- Develop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices using server-side languages
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver their solutions, and are monitoring and participating in solutions for new stack layers, often involving industry collaboration
Skills Required:
- PLC/CNC
Skills Preferred:
- Full Stack Java Developer
Experience Required:
- Engineer 3 Exp: Prac. In 2 coding lang. or adv. Prac. in 1 lang. 6+ years in IT; 4+ years in development
Experience Preferred:
- 4 Years of experience with PLC programming (Siemens PLC's Siemen HMI, Rockwell PLC, Rockwell HMI's)
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
Education Preferred:
- High School Diploma / GED

The resource in this position performs the following Candidate is expected to have the following knowledge base
- Exposure and hands-on experience on handling the PLCs such as a. Siemens S7-300, S7-1500 and software Simatic manager and TIA portal b. Rockwell L73, L84 series and software RSlogix 5000, Studio 5000 c. Siemens HMI WinCC Flexible, Advanced d. Rockwell HMI FT view studio e. Mitsubishi PLC and HMI
- Exposure to the high level architecture from IT layer (Data center) to ground layer (PLC)
- Knowledge on the industrial protocols used in the PLCs, HMIs & Robots
- Knowledge on IP class, subnet and gateway
- Awareness of the ABB, Kawasaki & Fanuc robots networking to the PLC & servers
- Exposure on Factory Monitoring systems
- Ability to design high-level architecture based on any new tech requirements
- Ability to design, implement, test, and validate control systems for simple automated machinery and processes
- Awareness on software version differences and consequences
- Process knowledge on automotive sectors VO/PTO
- Basic knowledge on networking and NATing
- Ability to simplify the repetitive task using AI or simple RPA
- Aware of Cloud systems such as GCP, Microsoft Azure, AWS
In addition:
- Prepare PLC's and HMI in the test lab for testing required for rollout of Octoplant.
- Provide training to team mates on PLC hardware and architecture.
- Load PLC's with programs, change the programs if needed.
- Configure Siemens PLC with Step7 or TIA Portal and Siemens HMI's
- Configure Rockwell PLC's and Rockwell HMI's with Factory Talkview
- Install required software like TIA Portal, RSlogix, Factory ME View.
- Support PFS Team with work related to OT devices
- Production Support , Incident Management and Problem Management
- Support other PFS applications using DotNet, Full Stack.
- Upskill in latest technologies.
