- Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs.
- They are involved in the entire software development lifecycle including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality and deploying the software to meet customer requirements.
- Full-stack software engineering roles, who can develop all components of software including user interface and server side also fall within this job function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers to deeply understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements, showcasing empathy and advocating for user-centric software solutions
- Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies (like agile) and technologies
- Assess the requirements of the software application or service and determine the most suitable technology stack, integration method, deployment strategy, etc.
- Create high-level software architecture designs that outline the overall structure, components, and interfaces of the application
- Collaborate with cross functional teams like product owners, designers, architects etc.
- Define and implement software test strategy, guidelines, policies and processes in line with organization vision, industry regulations and market best practices.
- Work on continuously improving performance and optimizing the application and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Familiar with programming practices, such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
- Support security practices to safeguard user data including encryption and anonymization.
- Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces
- Develop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices using server-side languages
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver their solutions, and are monitoring and participating in solutions for new stack layers, often involving industry collaboration

Experience Required:
- Engineer 3 Exp: Prac. In 2 coding lang. or adv. Prac. in 1 lang. 6+ years in IT; 4+ years in development
- DevOps and CI/CD: Contribute to and advocate for DevOps practices. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Maven, Anypoint CLI, and tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps to automate the build, test, and deployment of Mule applications.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve complex technical issues using Anypoint Monitoring and Functional Monitoring.
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks (e.g., memory leaks or worker exhaustion) to ensure system reliability.
- Collaboration and C4E: Work closely with product managers, frontend teams (React.js), and stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Contribute to the Center for Enablement (C4E) by creating reusable templates and fragments.
- Mentor junior developers and lead technical architectural discussions.
- Cloud-Native & Hybrid Ecosystems: While focusing on MuleSoft, maintain a strong understanding of cloud-native principles.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, GKE) is a plus for managing hybrid integrations and cloud infrastructure.
- Preferred (Advanced) Certifications: MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect (MCIA) MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect (MCPA) Google Cloud Digital Leader or Associate Cloud Engineer (Optional, to support the GCP context)

Additional Information :
- Architect and Develop Integration Flows: Design, develop, and maintain resilient and scalable Mule applications using Mule 4 and Anypoint Studio.
- Apply API-led connectivity principles (System, Process, and Experience layers) to ensure high availability and performance.
- API Design and Specification (RAML/OAS): Lead the design and implementation of API specifications using RAML or OAS.
- Ensure efficient data contracts and a flexible API layer by managing assets within Anypoint Exchange. Data Transformation (DataWeave 2.0): Master complex data mappings and transformations using DataWeave 2.0.
- Ensure seamless interoperability between various data formats (JSON, XML, Java, CSV) and disparate systems like Salesforce, SAP, and legacy databases.
- Anypoint Platform Management: Deploy, manage, and optimize integration assets using CloudHub or Runtime Fabric (RTF).
- Implement and configure API policies (e.g., OAuth 2.0, Rate Limiting) within API Manager to ensure secure interfaces.
- Testing and Code Quality: Promote high coding standards through the development of comprehensive unit and integration tests using the MUnit framework.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to security and performance best practices. Required Certifications: MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 (Mule 4) MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 2 (Expected for Senior roles)
